The Smiths- some girls are bigger than others |

The thought of updating my livejournal causes me to look around the room, to see if anyone is watching me ponder going through with it. E-vulnerability is out this season (out for the past 16 seasons, actually). Well, it's 5:20 AM and that means it's "nothing going on, except reflection" time!
Summer will be ending, for me, in around 3 or 4 weeks. While working and drinking excessively sounded spectacular around late April, studying and drinking excessively sounds better now, in late July. Summer has been relaxing and mostly carefree, but lack of inspiration and grandeur have triggered a sense of urgency to flee back to the county of Alachua.
Being dependent on support from my parents and putting the air on 72 don't go together at all. Though I am still embracing the time I am getting to spend with my family, it will be nice to return back to the seeming independence of college life.
My streak of petty luck has come to an end, at least for a while. Excessive leisure time has resulted in an unhealthy streak of gambling that is mildly alarming. Thus, I'm going to suck it up and take a break. Working for money is surely not how I imagined myself obtaining it (this summer), but that's how I'm going to wrap things up.
In other news related to me wasting money, I purchased "RyanWeiss.org" for ten dollars. So far, it's just a picture link that leads to a blank page. The safe bet is that it will transform into a photo blog/proud display of my narcissism.
Additionally, I have decided to take on journalism as a second major. My previous outlet was "The Shpiel," (Gainesville publication, Jewish and slightly sub-culture) and after my third or fourth assignment that involved the re-wording of existing articles, I stopped completing them.
to ending this without care or eloquence,
-RBW

I have been home for two days, post Langerado. The festival was a great time...but rather than discuss anything festival related, I would like to share, with you, one of my new favorite things. Wearing sunglasses is the best way to avoid acquaintances. I walked right by people I kind of knew and didn't have to share an awkward "HEY! How have you been?! Where is your campsite!?" (even though there is no way in hell either of you are going to attempt to find eachothers tent in the midst of 25,000 people in a field)
So next time you are taking a trip to Panera Bread, Starbucks, or anywhere else you might run into someone you don't want to say hello to....wear big sunglasses and look annoyed (and in a hurry)

Don’t you wish you were there before it was all figured out Before it was all just so revealed We have cancer, aids, STDS…all left to cure But the cat has been let out of the bag No longer can a little dreamer boy sit inside of his happy days home dreaming wild thoughts, looking out the window and shivering with excitement. These days it takes a bit of vodka and a beautiful song in a language that I cannot understand to get me going, to get me caring about things bigger than money, than sex, than college and numbers.

Cleaning my room out for college wasn't too difficult. It was having to throw away my "homies" collection that got to me.

I just returned from my first experience at a strip club. The location of this haven of vag was just off of Hollywood Blvd, in Los Angeles. Another one of those things you have to experience to understand I guess. Initially, you feel like a total creep. However, you eventually accept the scene and dollar bills start flying out of your pocket. It's a bizarre experience in that you must differenciate between genuine interest and business interest, genuine interest being near absent. A part of you wants to believe that you and the dancers are humans above all. I wanted the dancer to acknowledge that this was all a little ridiculous and that this scene wasn't definitive of me....but was very much novelty. So many creeps and dweeboids gathered around the pit night after night....it's so difficult to go about seperating yourself. But hey, this is all a little misleading. Strip clubs are a lot of fun (and so are lapdances with latino dancers.) If luck allows it (as it did for us) you might even get to sit next to a guy in a wheelchair.

I'm undecided whether or not it is my absolute "favorite," but I can say with confidence that Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme is one of the top three greatest albums ever made.
